Team

Built by scientists who've lived the delivery problem

Our team combines deep expertise in computational chemistry, LNP biophysics, gene editing biology, and IND regulatory strategy.

Leadership

Co-founders and leads

Benjamin Okafor, CEO and Co-Founder of Gendelivr

Benjamin Okafor

CEO & Co-Founder

Benjamin has spent 15 years at the intersection of computational structural biology and drug delivery. Before founding Gendelivr, he led LNP formulation programs at two gene therapy CDMOs and published foundational work on ionizable lipid pKa prediction in the context of endosomal escape. He holds a PhD in Biophysics from MIT and an MBA from HBS.

Chief Science Officer at Gendelivr

Dr. Mei Lin

CSO & Co-Founder

Mei Lin's work at the Broad Institute focused on LNP delivery optimization for base editing cargo. She developed the in silico transfection efficiency prediction models that underpin the Gendelivr platform. Her research on PEG-lipid surface chemistry and ApoE adsorption kinetics has been cited in over 140 publications. PhD in Chemical Biology from Stanford.

Head of Computational Chemistry at Gendelivr

Dr. Rohan Mehta

Head of Computational Chemistry

Rohan architects the simulation pipeline that runs 10,000 virtual formulations in days. He combines coarse-grained molecular dynamics with machine learning scoring functions to predict physical properties that correlate with in vivo hepatic delivery performance. Formerly at D.E. Shaw Research working on protein-membrane simulations. PhD in Computational Chemistry from Caltech.

Head of Biology at Gendelivr

Dr. Claire Duchamp

Head of Biology

Claire connects computational predictions to in vitro validation. She designs the assay cascade that confirms top-ranked candidates — HepG2 transfection, cell viability, RNA integrity post-encapsulation — and ensures the final shortlist reflects true biological performance. Previously at Alnylam's delivery science group. PhD in Molecular Biology from the Pasteur Institute.
